Bahrs Landing, working waterfront
ca. 2024
2 Bay Avenue, Highlands, N.J.
The seafood restaurant and adjacent working dock at the foot of Bay Avenue in Highlands. Founded in 1917 by John Bahrs Sr. as a small clam bar and expanded by the family through three generations. The dock behind still serves party boats and small commercial fishing vessels; the interior carries a century of photographs of captains and their catches.
