The Sandlass family house at Highland Beach — the building that the Army renumbered Building 600 in 1938 after rolling it inland to make room for a highway widening — in a color photograph from the club's last years, ca. 1962. Green-and-white striped awnings on the second and third stories; a screened porch on the ground floor at left; a chimney of local stone. The picket fence in the foreground bounds the family's private beach approach; a smaller service building sits to the right. This house is the only structure of the Sandlass Beach Club that still stands today.
