The Merry-Go-Round pavilion at Highland Beach, ca. 1908 — a square wooden building with a low hip roof and dormer windows, painted MERRY GO-ROUND in tall letters across its facade. A smaller RESTAURANT sign hangs from a pole at left. The carousel was one of the Sandlass property's most-photographed features across the resort's Golden Age — cited in period Register society columns as a Sunday afternoon fixture — and it sat inside the building visible here. Landscaped hedges frame the foreground; an early automobile is parked at the entrance.
