The Sandlass entertainment complex at Highland Beach seen from across the road, ca. 1912. The three-story Victorian gingerbread pavilion office at center with its hexagonal corner tower and twin chimneys. The BAMBOO-GARDEN AIR-DROME signboard is visible at far left along the boardwalk fence. A signpost at ground level advertises FRANGIPANI or CANDIES. A man on a bicycle stands at the corner; three or four other pedestrians stand at the storefront entrance. The plaza is unpaved sand.
