A hand-coloured postcard captioned SANDLASS PAVILION, HIGHLAND BEACH, N.J. The pavilion stands at centre — a turreted frame building with striped awnings over its shopfronts — with a run of gabled structures and an open-work tower beyond it, and the bathhouse row running off to the right. At the left edge a sign board reads BAMBOO GARDEN, and beneath it CABARET AND DANCING. Summer visitors stand about in the road.
