The Central Railroad of New Jersey depot at Highlands, ca. 1912, at the eastern terminus of the Seashore Branch that linked the Sandy Hook resorts to the ferries at Atlantic Highlands. Trains fed the Sandlass and Water Witch Club crowds on peak summer weekends and the Fort Hancock garrison through both World Wars. The station was demolished in the postwar drawdown; the right of way is now a rail trail.
