A colorized reinterpretation of N. Currier's 1846 lithograph. The plate is black-and-white in the source; the color is an AI-assisted editorial pass. Currier's hand-colorists did tint these sheets for sale, so a colored Minturn is not an invention of the medium — but this is not one of theirs, and the palette here is a modern reading: a bruised purple sky over a green sea, the broken hull in red lead below the waterline, the figures on the deck picked out in blue. Everything the letterpress records is unchanged.
