Bay Avenue party-boat dock, Highlands
The signature Highlands scene of the postwar half-century — a fifty-five-passenger party boat under sodium light, anglers boarding for the six-thirty run, coolers stacked on the pier, the crew's coffee going cold on the wheelhouse ledge. There were fifteen of these boats out of Bay Avenue at the fleet's peak in the late fifties. There are three today.
