A working butcher shop in Highlands around the turn of the twentieth century. Two figures in butcher's aprons — an older man and a younger boy — stand in front of the frame building. Sign at the peak reads "M. A. Teaney" over a lower sign reading MEAT MARKET; a second painted sign on the side of the building reads TEANEY'S MEAT MARKET beneath a decorative arc. The kind of local business that made a fishing town also a town — a corner butcher serving the boarding houses, hotels, and year-round families of Highlands.
