Harper's Weekly, August 17, 1878
1878-08-17
A page from Harper's Weekly, August 1878. The magazine ran illustrated correspondence from the Highlands nearly every summer through the 1870s and 1880s. This one — headlined *The Highlands of Navesink* — carries a woodcut of the *Sea Bird* landing and one of the phrases that stuck: *fishermen and artists, yachtsmen and clammers, working the same waters.*
