Sandy Hook Unit parking lots, Gateway NRA
The Sandy Hook State Park parking lot at peak season — every stall full, families walking toward the beach with carts and coolers, a park ranger giving directions at the info kiosk. Two million people a year across the whole Gateway NRA; something like half of them at Sandy Hook. Most of them have no idea the ground under their sandals was a nuclear missile site sixty years ago.
