The same block after the resilience program. Most of the ground floors are lifted six or seven feet on new foundations, the buildings shoved back and put on stilts. High-water marks from Sandy are still painted in rust at chest height on some of the side walls, deliberately preserved. The block is open, working, functionally identical to what it was on the twenty-eighth of October twenty twelve.
