The Twin Lights brownstone by day — the 1862 rebuild, keeper's quarters between two towers, seen from the Sandy Hook side

The 1862 brownstone fortress

1862

Navesink Twin Lights, Highlands

Joseph Lederle's rebuild replaced the 1828 original towers with the brownstone-and-keeper's-quarters compound that still crowns the town. Two towers, connected by a masonry central range, built to last a war and then a century past it.
