Spermaceti Cove Visitor Center, Sandy Hook
The 1894 station building, preserved and running today as the Spermaceti Cove Visitor Center of the Gateway National Recreation Area. NPS interpretation on the ground floor covers the whole USLSS history; an original 1901 lifeboat sits on skids outside the boathouse where the working boat used to sit. Open weekends year-round.
