Ferdinand Fish was one of the principal figures in the founding years of the Highland Beach resort. His name appears repeatedly in the Red Bank Register's construction coverage of the winter of 1887 and 1888, in connection with the pavilion complex, the bathhouses, and the Gravity Railroad.
